Thrilled that the Congressional Baseball Game is still on despite impending severe weather scheduled to hit Washington, Dems and the GOP have taken to Twitter for pre-game boasting and trash talking.
Republicans kicked off the day Thursday by hitting the Democrats for not having a team Twitter, and Democrats quickly fired back with practice photos from the morning.
Players were a bit nervous that the game, scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. at Nationals Park, might be called off because of rain.
But, much to the teams’ relief, the game is still a go-ahead. Let the trash talking continue:
Expected GOP star Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), the team’s best hope against the pitching of Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.), has yet to weigh in on the Twitter talk.
