College of Public Health: A look back at 2013

2013 was a big year for the college. A new dean came on board, a 5-year Bachelor of Science in Public Health/Master of Public Health combined degree program was launched, we said goodbye to some friends and welcomed others, and congratulated our first Bachelor of Science in Public Health graduates.

  2. New Franklin County HealthMap2013 provides the residents of central Ohio with a comprehensive summary of the community’s health status and needs 
  3. Study lead by Philip Binkley, joint professor of epidemiology
  4. Study co-authored by Hong Zhu and Stanley Lemeshow of the college's Division of Biostatistics (among others)
  5. Grzegorz Rempala, professor of biostatistics, principal investigator on a project funded by the National Cancer Institute 
  6. February

  7. Alison Norris, assistant professor in the Division of Epidemiology, receives a scholar career development award from the Center for Clinical and Translational Science 
  8. March

  9. Stan Lemeshow retires as dean, student scholarship fund established in his honor
  10. Susan Olivo-Marston, assistant professor in the Division of Epidemiology, receives grant
  11. In celebration of "father of epidemiology" John Snow’s 200th birthday, Professor Emeritus Marty Keller speaks about Snow’s influence on him and on the field.
