1. Russian businesses are striking back against Western sanctions imposed in response to the country's annexation of Crimea this week.

    And they aren't exactly being subtle about it, either.

    A photo collection of retaliatory "sanctions" has begun to build up on social media sites like Twitter. The pictures include examples like this one, advising customers that only those recognizing Crimea's decision to join Russia may help themselves to candy from March 20.
  2. Others are directed at prominent political players rather than everyday customers. For example, U.S. President Barack Obama is no longer allowed to enter this shop.
  3. This telecommunications store has also banned him from the premises.
  4. As has this office at the tourism authority in Russia's Krasnodar region, whose city of Sochi recently hosted the Olympics.
  5. In a sweeping statement, this shop has decided to ban not just Obama and his secretary of state, John Kerry, but also protest band Pussy Riot and Ukrainian opposition politician Vitaly Klitschko.

    Whoever put up this note also decided to group them with fascist leaders like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.
  6. And in a country where racist slurs by prominent figures are no rarity, this pastry shop has come up with "Obama" (chocolate) and "Drunk Obama" (chocolate and rum) muffins. For those who share its negative view of the U.S., it's even offering a sweet reward:
