Russian women are saying it with flowers — and what they're saying is: "The bigger, the better."

In a culture known for habitually choosing bling over understatement, an arms race has erupted on Instagram as Russian women post photos of gigantic bouquets of flowers given to them by their husbands, boyfriends and admirers.

If you're not familiar with the Russian penchant for grand gestures, you'd be forgiven for being impressed by these first three bunches of flowers, but remember Goldilocks!

Let's start out with "small."

And move onto "medium."

With hundreds of flowers, preferably in separate vases, these women can legitimately boast their "big" bouquets.

And, finally, the "just not quite right," pictures. Despite the size of these bouquets, some women still seem to feel the need to cheat. And in true Agatha Christie style, they do it with mirrors.

Distracted by all the "oohs and aahs," you'd be advised to keep an eye on those innocent- looking blossoms.
