What's your favorite MTV moment?

We're talking to MTV president Stephen Friedman today about the future of the network. MTV's got a long history -- what's your favorite #MTVmemory?

  1. Watching the thriller video for the first time.
  2. Seeing Nirvana on "Headbanger's Ball" for the first time.
  3. Sneaking out of bed to watch the premiere of "Justify My Love" which couldn't be shown before 11pm because it was too "racy." ;)
  4. Yo! MTV Raps...Headbanger's Ball...Michael Jackson video premieres...Beevis and Butthead...and my all-time personal favorite...When MTV was BANNED in my town, and taken off the cable system for more than a decade!!!
  5. The blue MTV exclusive logo that appeared when the video is exclusively aired on MTV for a week or two before other video shows were allowed to air them...
  6. RUN DMC and Aerosmith's rap-rock video. And pretty much anything from RUN-DMC back in the late 80s.
  7. 1. Martha Quinn2. The lead up to a music video premier.3. Randy and the Redwoods.
  8. 1. Waiting for six hours before the full length version of Thriller aired. 2. Sunday nights watching Monty Python and The Young Ones, 3. 120 Minutes, 4. Headbangers Ball, and 5. Liquid Television
  9. Beyond my favorite videos, MTV was the arbiter of fashion. Swatches and red Reebok high tops!
  10. Headbangers Ball and 120 Minutes show. Also having "world premiere video" time. Those were fun events.
  11. Cable wasn't available where I grew up. So when I visited my grandparents every summer I spent pretty much the entire week watching MTV and making VHS tapes to bring back home. Drove my grandfather crazy.
  12. Best MTV show. Headbanger's Ball. Last time I watched MTV? When they make Queensryche's Silent Lucidity the "Skullcrusher of the week."
