  1. Although not directly a personal finance book. "The Willpower Instinct" by Kelly McGonigal has an incredible amount of insight into how willpower affects your life. Managing money well has a lot to do with managing your emotions and marshaling willpower in service of your goals, therefore learning how to have more of it is a great personal finance tool.
  2. All roads lead to 'The Millionaire Next Door'
  3. How about setting a goal of spending time reading all of one's financial statements, credit cards, bank statements, 401K statements, brokerage statements etc and try and make sense of it ?
  4. Total Money Makeover, if you can understand that the numbers he uses (12%!) are examples only and that the principles of getting out and staying out of debt works.
