"Age Friendly" is an internationally recognised concept that enables a good quality of life for older people and is supported by the World Health Organisation movement of over 200 age friendly cities and communities world wide.
Wythenshawe has its own developing age friendly network and on Wednesday 14th June 2017 they will launch the age friendly approach across Wythenshawe. A partnership involving local businesses, organisations, groups and individuals playing their part in making Wythenshawe a great place to grow old.
The age-friendly Manchester Older People's Charter sets out the principles required to achieve an age-friendly Manchester. They encourage individuals and organisations across the city to adopt it. Wythenshawe Good Neighbours, Wythenshawe Hall, The Courtyard Cafe Wythenshawe Park, The Lifestyle Centre, The Firbank Pub and Kitchen and Northenden Social Club have all made pledges to be make Wythenhsawe a great place to grow old.
