#WINK2017 #NUDGE2017 conference, Utrecht, 23-24 June

On the 23rd and 24th of June the first WINK The Nudge conference took place in the Utrecht University Academy Hall. Around 280 participants enjoyed spectacular surroundings, keynote speakers and workshops, all aimed at discussing the values and pitfalls of nudging for the good.

Keynote speakers were David Halpern, managing director of the BIT UK Nudge Unit, Luc Bovens, Professor of Philosophy at the London School of Economics and Dan Ariely, Professor of Psychology and Behavioural Economics at Duke University and writer of bestsellers like Predictably Irrational and The Honest Truth about Dishonesty.

  3. This summary below reflects my pathway and interests during the conference. I have added some information on the workshops I attended. At the same time I have added tweets around other workshops, just to give an impression. I did not add extra (textual) information on those workshops.   5. WINK stands for Welfare Improvement through Nudging Knowledge. Research is done into the feasibility, acceptability and effectiveness of nudging and the programme is supported by a.o. Department of Health of the Municipality of Utrecht, Netherlands Scientific Council for Government Policy - WRR, Netherlands School for Public Policy - NSOB, Council for Public Health and Health Care - RVS and National Institute for Public Health and the Environment - RIVM.
