Senior director Bims Alalade investigates how a recent funding crisis is affecting the largest and oldest youth charity in the world. How have massive budget cuts of up to 80% impacted the organisation and the brand.- First, a bit about YMCA England: YMCA England supports and represents the 114 YMCAs in England helping them transform communities.
We give YMCAs a national voice, by speaking with government, key policy makers and national media. As a representative body, we are able to advocate for the needs of the most vulnerable young people in England.
We support YMCAs by promoting high standards of working, sharing best practice, fundraising on their behalf, partnering with them to pilot new projects, and providing training opportunities for their staff and volunteers.
Each YMCA is an individual, self-governing charity that affiliates to YMCA England. Through this affiliation, YMCAs become part of the World Alliance of YMCAs.
- It was great to see that many former residents now work or volunteer for a YMCA.
- One of the fantastic projects that was featured on the show was the SOS bus in Southend:
