If the temperature of the metal is below its recrystallization temperature, the process is known as cold rolling. Commonly cold-rolled products include sheets, strips, bars, and rods; these products are usually smaller than the same products that are hot rolled. Cold Rolled Aluminum Strip comes in various conditions like: full-hard, half-hard, quarter-hard, and skin-rolled. Aluminum strip is the most useful and valuable form of aluminum. Cold rolling is required to obtain thinner gauges than can be achieved in hot rolling while keeping a narrow strip thickness tolerance. The process is also needed to obtain high surface quality as well as control of the physical characteristics such as material hardness. In cold rolling of thin wide strips, most lateral spread of the strip is prevented by the high friction between the strip and the work rolls in the roll bite.

Cold Rolling Mill for Aluminum- In this process the hot rolled aluminum strip after being cooled to room temperature, is steadily passed numerous times between series of rollers until it reaches desired measurement and forms into a coil. The process occurs when the metal is treated below its re-crystallization temperature, which increases the strength by up to 20% and enables greater resistance.
