  1. In the hours that followed the announcement of Donald Trump as the country's 45th president, the topic had proven to be on the mind of many and Southern California athletes and coaches were no exception.
  2. While college athletes such as Chris Hawkins, a safety for the USC football team, were unsure whether or not to share an opinion, one of his Trojan teammates, offensive lineman Zach Banner tweeted candidly on the subject.
  3. Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford, a mentor to Banner, expressed a feeling similar to the college athlete.

  5. “No, it’s not a distraction, I was just more shocked than anything – shocked that things played out how they played out, but shocked that it even got that far, to be honest with you. But that’s most of America doing the voting, so I guess the people have spoken.”
