CBA11: Highlights from day one

After three days of field trips, participants returned to Kampala for the first day of the conference. The packed agenda for the day included an opening ceremony, two plenary sessions, three parallel sessions, a children's art exhibition, and even 'climate condoms'...


  1. Around 280 people, from more than 50 countries, have gathered, for the 11th International Conference on Community-Based Adaptation (CBA11).
  2. On the opening morning, a series of special guests, including the Ambassador for Ireland in Uganda, and the Uganda Minister for Water and the Environment, officially launched the event. They reflected on global events, such as US President Donald Trump pulling out of the Paris Agreement, to the need to scale up local adaptation action.
