#Gradvice 2013

What do you wish you had known as you were leaving Harvard? While everybody is getting ready for Commencement, The Harvard Alumni Association has asked alumni to share tips, advice, and life lessons with the Class of 2013.

  1. As you go through life, you will find many people, even well-intentioned ones, who will happily tell you how to live your life, including what career to choose, who to marry, where to live, what to do, and what to think and feel.  Don't listen to them.  Figure out what is your own dream -- and keep it to yourself lest someone spoil it for you,  Then work hard to make it real.  To quote Shakespeare's Polonius, "This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man."
