- Game of Thrones fans are always hungry for behind the scenes video, and in Season 6, HBO upped the ante like never before in the network’s history. HBO spent over 90 days on set accumulating over 500 hours of b-roll and 90 interviews, which they spun into a 5-part documentary series: The Game Revealed. The series gave fans unprecedented access to the expansive teams that bring the series to life with insights from the series stars, creators and craftspeople—including stars Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) and series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
The series gave fans an inside look at over 27 key scenes—allowing the artisans to detail the ways in which Season 6 set itself apart in HBO history. Along with taking fans inside the Battle of the Bastards, Jon Snow’s resurrection, and Hodor’s “hold the door” moment, the series showcased the craftsmanship involved in creating all the series unforgettable details—from a pile of bodies to a working castle drawbridge to filming 15 feet in the air.
