    As co-founder of Gilda’s Club, Gene Wilder turned his grief over the death of his third wife, comedian Gilda Radner, into action around ovarian cancer, and helping those affected by cancer in all its forms. Wilder, the actor best known for his iconic role as Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, died August 28th, 2016 at the age of 83 of complications from Alzheimer's disease at his home in Stamford, Connecticut. September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
