  31. Morning Friends! As usual, Kellie Pickler kicked up her heels again last night, and won immunity on DWTS!! Feel bad for Val though, and DWTS should have an age requirement! The rumba is suppose to be a hot and sexy dance, and he said...we may have a problem here! He has had to change a lot of choreography, due to he's dancing with a child, and I have to admit, she is trying to act more than the 16yrs she is!! She's doing a good job...just think you should be at least 18 to play this game! We'll see who goes home tonight, and it'll either be Andy or Sean. Have a great Tuesday Everybody, and be safe in All You do!!
  32. I love all of @Aly_Raisman's facial expressions during the dances! It's a fun change from all of the serious gymnastics routines! #DWTS

  44. (AP) — "Dancing With the Stars" host Tom Bergeron says his heart is with his family and friends in Boston. Bergeron is from Haverhill, Massachusetts, and spent many years as a Boston TV host. He opened the show last night noting the tragedy in Boston. Contestant Aly Raisman is also from the Boston area. Last night, she dedicated her performance to the people back home. Zendaya came oh so close to a perfect score. She got the first 10s of this season -- two of them -- and a nine. Her total of 29 tops the pack, as each star danced alongside two pros. The comics didn't do nearly as well. Andy Dick and D.L. Hughley tied for the lowest scores of the evening. But Andy impressed judge Carrie Ann Inaba with what she calls the best entrance ever on the show. Andy was dressed as Zorro and flew over the stage on a zipline. Tonight, another celeb is sent packing.
  45. The team dance is back! Team Samba will be Kellie Pickler, Derek Hough, Aly Raisman, Mark Ballas, Sean Lowe, Peta Murgatroyd, Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess!

  49. To everyone who reads this blog, let's send our thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families of yesterday's bombings in Boston...a sentence I never thought I'd write :( I have always felt that humor heals :) ...there's some much-needed healing today so think of my words as salve and my humor as a morphine drip! Last night was the "side-by-side" dance challenge: Pro's dance next to the celebrities and must synchronize their moves for 15 seconds. At first I thought it was a stupid idea but -- like Carrie Ann Inaba/Paula Abdul -- I changed my mind by the end of the night! Zendaya (Julie): Holy Argentine Tango! BEST DANCE OF THE NIGHT! (and our first 10's of the season) I'm not sure what it is about the Tango and leaving a lasting impression...(remember Ricki Lake and Derek Hough???)...but if that's the idea of NOT knowing a dance (Val had never danced it)...I say "Dance only what you DON'T know!" Note to Zen-any-day-now: Cut those ridiculous claws you call nails! I don't care if they have teenage day-glo polish on them or not -- you could slice somebody open! Kellie Pickler (Michele): Best quote of the night was Kellie telling Brooke that she was scared to death that her wig would go flying off during her last death spiral spin! (Truthfully? I would have LOVED that!) Her foxtrot with Derek was very 1940's-esque and reminded me of the Thin Man movies and anyone who danced with Fred Astaire. Another strong dance for Kellie...and I really liked the throw back to those 1940's studio films...:) Jacoby Jones (Sheryl & Tammy): The judges -- on more than one occasion -- have mentioned the "problem" with Jacoby's feet (too flat and pigeon-toed). Finally, J.J. had a comeback: "I went 108 (yards) in 11 (seconds) in these feet!" (for anyone who only watches the Super Bowl for the commercials: Jacoby had a punt return from the end zone: 108 yards in 11 seconds). I liked his dance and the vault over Karina was impressive but his posture bugs me (he's so tall he leans down to dance with her). Still, this footballer ain't goin' anywhere... Ingo Redenmacher (Vaneska): For someone who is arguably one of the most good looking soap actors out there, Ingo can't move his hips to save his life! It didn't help that he had to dance next to last years winner Tony Dovalani...which only highlighted Ingo's lack of hip action. Kym did her best to shimmy and shake in an apparent attempt to distract the judges from Ingo's lower area lock down (or, as Bruno called it, "everything below the belt"...ouch!) Aly Raisman (Sandi): I agreed with Carrie Ann (wow, that's twice now! I better be careful or I'll start slurring and falling off my chair!): When Aly was on the dance floor with Witney (professional dancing with Tony), she was MUCH more confident with her sexy, sultry dance moves. Once it was just her and Mark, it's like she got all self-conscious :( I don't blame her: the Samba is a hot Latin dance that I couldn't even attempt...let alone wear those very tiny costumes! (go ahead, visualize all you want....and when you stop laughing, read on!) Andy Dick (Randy & Darlene): Everyone knows I secretly cheer Andy on every week -- I love me an underdog! But I think Underdog could have done a whole lot better on the Paso Doble than Andy did! Yes, the zip line was fun (although slightly worried that he'd kick Sasha and Emma in the head!) but the rest of the dance (and I use that term loosely) was "old" instead of "ole" (or as Bruno said, "more Pasedena than Paso Doble"!) Victor Ortiz (Peg & Dawn): First, not the worst dance of the night (and their were definitely two). Victor had everything NOT going for him this week: One, he was dancing the dreaded Vienesse Sausage...ah, I mean Waltz. It's like taking a sleeping pill and watching paint dry...and expecting to be entertained. Two, he found out his girlfriend was cheating on him (via text?!?!?!?!) and he had to dance this albeit boring but romantic routine. So, Victor does what anybody would do after a 6 hour dance rehearsal: Go work out and hit the speed bag for a couple of more hours! (I would have to be wheeled out on a stretcher if I had to endure that much exercise!) I give Victor and "A" for effort... D.L. Hughley (Sally): Here's another celebrity that totally suffered from the side-by-side dance with the professionals. Oh My God...D.L. was awful! He wasn't exactly dancing...it was more like dance-walking slash dance-stomping. Poor Cheryl, she was spinning and twirling her Tango moves with such conviction...I actually felt bad for her! I'm not going to say that it's D.L.'s "last Tango in Paris" (yes, you have to put up with my movie references...Michele does!)...but if Victor goes before D.L.? I'll be hittin' that damn speed bag myself! Sean Lowe (Karen & Jeff): Encore performance for tonight's show goes to...SEAN! Last night was his best dance -- he didn't look like the big lug that he's been the past couple of week (do I need to remind you of the "YMCA" fiasco?!?!?) He looked confident and he actually held his own next to professionals Tristan and Chelsie (although their Quickstep was blazing fast -- loved it!). I predicted early on that Sean could be the dark horse of DWTS and last nights dance proved me right! (and that doesn't happen very often!!!!!) That's all, peeps! Tune in tonight for another elimination...who will it be????? (I'm gonna go out on a limb and say...a comedian?????)
  50. Just watched the Samba from @MarkBallas & @Aly_Raisman ...kinda confused by the 8 scores...she was workin it!! Should have been all 9s!

  58. Dancing With the Stars Recap: Lisa Vanderpump Faints, Aly Raisman Takes Lead - Parade Magazine: CBS NewsDancin...  http://bit.ly/11OkqgE
  59. I would like to give out a word of congratulations to Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas for finishing at the top the leaderboard for their contemporary dance on last night's episode of Dancing With The Stars (They score a total of 27 judges points with each judge giving them a 9). After all, every fan of Aly (especially the ones from her hometown of Needham, MA) is proud or her doing so well in that dance. But anyways, I hope she survives tonight's elimination (Which I think she will because I did vote for her last night). So, all I have to say to Aly and Mark is this: Good luck!
  60. Good Morning everyone! It was "Your Favorite Year" last night on Dancing With The Stars...and, as predicted, Carrie Ann Inaba is channeling her inner Paula Abdul and I couldn't be happier!!!! Here's how their 'favorite year' turned out: Aly Raisman (Sandi): Fave Year? You guessed it -- winning the gold medal at the Olympics. Aly and Mark's Contemporary dance was like a mini-gymnastics routine and, although I liked it, I thought both Dorothy's and Kellie's Contemporary were much better. Aly improves every week (ah, the heart of a champion!) and took home the highest score of the night. Victor Ortiz (Peg & Dawn): Fave Year? You guessed it -- winning the WBC Welterweight Title. I really thought Victor would knock it outta the park(yes, I know I'm mixing my sports metaphors!) with the Paso Doble because the dance is aggressive. But, just like Ingo, he looked pissed off and ready to rip Lindsay's head off! (Btw...I looooved Lindsay's boots -- HOT!) And what was going on at the beginning of his dance? That whole boxing slash foot stomping moment? I think that was suppose to be his "dance solo" (each celeb had to dance 15 seconds alone -- pure comedy!)...but he looked like he was trying to kill a rather slow bug with his feet or break the glass after getting married under the Chuppah! Jacoby Jones (Sheryl & Tammy): Fave Year? You guessed it -- winning the Super Bowl. What you didn't guess? The birth of his son...talk about a big 2012! I get a kick outta the judges and announcers saying "I know your son is proud of you." ...his son is 8 months old. All that little man is worried about is eatin', poopin' and sleepin'...not daddy dancin' on DWTS! I agree with Carrie Ann/Paula's comment about Jacoby's butt sticking out when he dances but I thought he did a nice job. His 'solo' had nothing to do with the foxtrot but I sure cracked his mom up! (and, I'm sure, some commentator will say "...and his son loved his solo, too!" HE'S A BABY IN A TUX! Zendaya (Julie): Fave Year? You guessed it -- the year she got discovered and started making mega Disney Dollars! First, I LOVE the Beyoncé song she danced to (if you don't know it, give it a listen on iTunes...it ROCKS! and, Beyoncé? you're welcome!) No lie, this girl can dance and her Samba with Val was borderline professional. But here's the funny thing that I need you all to pay attention to (and astutely pointed out by my sometimes-sleeping-but-last-night-awake viewing partner, Michele): Val dances likes he's the only one on the dance floor! Oh, please, you have to check it out! It's like he's spinning and turning and then..."OH! Zendaya! I had no idea you were out here!" Don't get me wrong, I love watching Val dance (and, last year, taking his shirt off)...but it's hilarious if you pay attention! Oh, yeah...and Zen-yoncé was flawless in her solo...shocker! Ingo Redemacher (Vaneska): Fave Year? You guessed it -- his marriage. Thankfully, he had the Vienesse Waltz this week so he could really express his love for his wife through his dance. Everyone knows the V. Waltz bores me (not unlike Wynonna's 'dancing') so I'm super critical of it. Ingo did an okay job but I thought his feet looked flat and, quite frankly, he looked like the Good Humor man. I was waiting for him to ask Kym if she wanted a Toasted Almond or a Strawberry Shortcake! Sean Lowe (Karen & Jeff): Fave Year? You guessed it -- meeting and getting engaged to his Bachelor girlfriend, Catherine. Again, as luck would have it, Sean also danced the Vienesse Waltz. I agreed with Len...it was an overall nice dancing but nothing spectacular (I had to reference those stupid overalls from last week again! Ah, another pun...brought to you by the letter 'P'!). What was noteworthy was his solo dance...basically dancing over to his soon-to-be bride and planting a kiss on her. His solo was very Disney-esque (Shout out to Zendaya!)...think Prince Charming in grey dance shoes. Kellie Pickler (Michele): Fave Year? You guessed it -- getting married to Kyle Jacobs (fellow country crooner). I have been on the Kellie 'fan-wagon' for weeks now but, I have to tell ya, I did not like her dance last night! (and shocked when she received such high scores). I don't know it if was dancing while her hubby sung live to her wedding song (double distraction) or whether she was wondering what Jacoby Jones' son would think about her dance (because most babies are Rumba experts)...but Jacoby's Rumba was waaaaay better. She's still awesome (not unlike Zendaya) but I think she needs a do-over with this dance... Andy Dick (Randy & Darlene): Fave Year? You half-guessed it -- 2013 because he got sober...but also because of his kids, specifically his daughter, Meg. This was Andy's BEST dance of the competition and...my favorite dance of the night! There was this really sincere, gentle quality to him (instead of silly and quirky) and it totally worked. I think Andy may have single-handedly saved the Vienesse Waltz from pure extinction for me! But the BEST part wasn't even Andy's dance...or his back story (yes, with predictable crying). It was Carrie Ann blubbering at the end of his routine! She couldn't even talk she was so moved...she said his V. Waltz was "...the simplest poem...your movement's vocabulary may have had only 3 letters but those few movements were beautiful". A poem with three letters? Obviously, the poem was written by Jacoby's son... D.L. Hughley (Sally): Fave Year? Nope, you didn't guess it -- 8th, 9th grade! Oh, but his comment "...nothing says Compton like a foxtrot" was priceless! This was, arguably, D.L.'s best dance this season...but I thought his 'solo' was ridiculous. Hip thrusts in Carrie Ann's direction? A Kiss-my-ass reference to Len? Pointing the finger at Bruno? then crawling away on all fours? Somehow the comedy in groveling worked because he got his highest scores ever! When the scores were announced, D.L. fell to the floor in a Baptist Revival Save My Soul kinda way and said "...those scores are higher than my SAT's!" The man might not be the best dancer but he's sure damn funny...! Lisa Vanderpump (Pat & Pat): Fave Year? Probably didn't guess it -- her daughter Pandora's wedding (No, that is not a type-o...that's her real name). Oh, the sheer DRAMA of last night! Would Lisa dance? Would she not dance? Would Gleb/Glob put his hair up in a pony tail???? It definitely was an episode ripped from the pages of "The Real Housewives..." The whole back story of her extremely busy life -- highlighted by an Academy Award winning fainting spell during rehearsal -- was better than her dance. But, the best part? Gleb's reaction when she fainted! He just looked at her lifeless body like "nice try...but in Russia, there is no fainting...SO GET UP!" When he realized she actually did faint, a took his hair out of the pony tail and raced her to the hospital! Lisa's Cha Cha was fair (they say it was under-rehearsed. I say it just sucked) and her solo reminded me of a very high Sally Kellerman at the 1976 Oscars (I know, obscure movie reference...I can't help myself!) That's a wrap! Tune in tonight to find out who goes home...
  61. DWTS Episode 4: Aly Raisman & Mark Ballas Steal The Spotlight!  http://bit.ly/17oJGMR
  62. Seriously thank you for all you me lovely tweets.. That dance is in my top 10 I've ever done on the show. Thank you @Aly_Raisman #dwts
  63. Interesting blog relating to 2 time Olympic gold medalist and US team Captain, Aly Raisman who is currently competing in American version of Strictly Come Dancing. It is so good to see gymnasts in demand for all of these popular tv shows! the-zone.co.uk/blog/
  64. Watching last nights DWTS that I most slept through. Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas are still my favorites.
  65. Dancing With The Stars Aly Raisman And Zendaya I hope one of them win.
  66. 'DWTS' Results Recap: Zendaya & Jacoby Jones Are the True Champs It was prom night this week on Dancing With the Stars and it was a seriously good time. It may have been one of my favorite themes in the history of the show, it was all about old photos and laughs. Jacoby Jones and Zendaya were both crowned prom king and queen. Huzzah! Of course, unlike the high school prom, not everyone was going to stay the night and someone was going to go home empty handed. It was elimination Tuesday, after all. Boo. Lucky for us, this time around, it was the right person. **Spoilers after the jump ** It was Wynonna Judd's turn to go home. Unlike other departures, this one feels kind of right. It was easy to predict and she was the most obvious person to leave. Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko were the first in the Bottom three, then it was Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess, and finally, it was Wynonna and Tony Dovolani. So far, this season, it seems like Jacoby Jones, Zendaya, Kellie Pickler, and maybe Aly Raisman are the front runners. They are strong contenders. But there are also, unlike past seasons, a lot of obvious weak links who are going to start being picked off one by one. Andy Dick, Lisa Vanderpump, and DL Hughley are all obviously in need of being sent home. I predict they will slowly be picked off one by one while the others grow in strength. One thing you always have to love about this show is that it is often very difficult to know how it will go. Some people improve, some people fall apart in the final couple shows and some people suddenly pull ahead. It is still anyone's game. This season is turning out to be pretty entertaining despite all early indications against it. So, yes. It is always sad to see someone go, but in this case it was the right person, so it's OK. Moving on! I predict next week is DL Hughley's last week, but we shall see. Anything can happen! Do you think Wynonna was the right one to go?
  67. Ok Dancing with the Stars. Only reason i watched it was Aly Raisman
  68. I am attempting to recap DWTS without coffee....so God knows what I'll write! Last night was a blast from the past with "Prom Night"...I didn't go to prom so I have no idea if (a) overalls are standard attire for teenage prom boys and (b) many prom kings go shirtless. Who knew?!?!?! There was this battle of the prom couples at the beginning of the show and I will flat out say that Jacoby Jones won the extra 2 points awarded...but it could go to Aly Raisman because Mark (and Derek) both dance 110 miles an hour and it's just a blur on your television screen...so you have no idea what's happening! Here' the scoop from last night... Kellie Pickler (Michele) -- As you all know, Kellie is my pick (ha ha! "Pick"...get it?? "Pick..Ler?" I told you doing this update without coffee would be dangerous!) but I thought Zendaya's jive from last week was better. There was one point where the whirling dervish that is Derek made Kellie look like she was in slow motion. The BEST is when she made fun of his "wasp face" (I've been commenting on his odd eyebrows for seasons now)...but I think he looked more like a fast-moving version of Jack Nicholson in 'The Shining'. Zendaya (Julie) -- Zendaya and Aly were the only two celeb's that hadn't been to prom or been in love (I don't think the two are mutually exclusive but I how would I know!) Zendaya's Vienesse Waltz was pretty but, as past readers of my blog will attest to, I don't like the V. Waltz very much :( Her dance was a definite throw back to the 1950's and the tribute to her grandmother was sweet. Another strong outing from Zen Yoga... Jacoby Jones (Sheryl & Tammy) -- my favorite dance of the night! Jacoby was smoking hot during his shirtless Rumba...and proved that, once again, being a professional football player somehow translates to an excellent ballroom dancer! (Yes, another one of God's mysteries...) They were one of the few couples that took a modern approach to "Prom Night"...and did not feel compelled to wear a very strange and distracting wig (we'll get to that later!) Wynonna Jugg...oops...Judd (Di) -- ....and it's Later! Was that just a hologram of Wynonna? Cardboard cut-out perhaps? I saw Tony moving around...I saw Tony attempting to dance in some strange Warrant/Slayer outfit with a Party City wig on his head...but Wynonna? They attempted (and, yes, I deliberately use the word 'attempted') to do a Samba but it was more like watching a battery-operated toy slowly lose it's energy charge. She has a huge....FAN BASE (you thought I was going there, didn't you!?) but I'm not even sure they can resuscitate her tonight. Each week it's more of the same: Tony dancing around her...and Wynonna waiting for the pizza delivery guy to show up... D.L. Hughley (Sally) -- Cheryl's brilliant idea of limiting D.L.'s dance floor to a postage stamp was a great idea in theory...but it didn't translate on screen. He looked clunky and I think a little nervous...like he was gonna go tumbling off the edge of that elevated dance floor! I give Cheryl alot of credit because she has been blessed with very good dance partner's in the past. D.L. cracks me up but this isn't "Joking with The Stars". He's my vote for tonight... Victor Ortiz (Peg & Dawn) -- See...I told you not to give up on Victor! His Contemporary dance was his best dance so far...but I share the same criticism as Len: There were too many lifts and not enough dancing. I get it, he's strong and he's capable of doing lifts so let's put lots of lifts in. Just like D.L., this isn't a show that plays solely to your strengths...and, the last time I checked, this wasn't "Lifting with The Stars". But, I hope Victor gets enough votes to stick around because he reminds me more and more of Rob Kardashian and I had fun watching him improve each week :) Ingo Rademacher (Vaneska) -- I will admit that I was sooooo focused on the ridiculous face that Ingo was making during his Paso Doble that I barely could focus on the dance! I love, love, LOVE the Paso but Ingo and Kym's version was all aggression and not much more. Ingo's face was a combination of "I-think-I-smell-a-dead-body" and "I'm-so-pissed-I-had-to-wear-the-mirror-ball-trophy-as-a-motorcycle-helmet". I do like these two and I think he's capable of much more (not unlike dear Victor)...but I question his acting skills if he can't pull off a convincing Matador! Lisa Vanderpump (Pat & Pat) -- What do I comment on first? Glob...uh, I mean Gleb taking his shirt off during rehearsal and Lisa tweeting a picture out of him (Yes, a modern day version of "The Graduate") or that stupid dog Glebby...oh, I mean Giggy PRETENDING to tweet and re-tweet to his many followers! The Vienesse Waltz is perfectly suited for Lisa and, somehow, she made it as boring as watching paint dry (or watching Wynonna wait for the pizza delivery boy...take your pick). My fave comment from Gleb during rehearsals was "Amazing how much you look like a dancer...WHEN YOU'RE NOT MOVING!" Priceless! Aly Raisman (Sandi) -- A completely fine, un-offensive, good Vienesse Waltz. But it was just like all the other Waltz's last night: okay and kinda boring. I thought Aly's leg extensions were beautiful (and very floor exercise-esque) and there is something very cute and loveable about her (especially when she admitted to Mark that she's never been in love...:) I'm waiting for that one dance from her that blows me away...the one where I get up and proudly announce that THAT was the best dance of the night! It hasn't happened yet...but if she sticks around (and I think she will)...it definitely will happen... Sean Lowe (Karen & Jeff) -- The way I remember it, the construction guy from the Village People was pretty butch for a screaming queen...and Sean looked more like a farm hand in dance shoes! And the "construction" helmet??? The prop people at DWTS couldn't come up with anything more authentic than a kids Big Wheel helmet?!?!? The dance was kitschy and kinda silly and not my favorite. But, just like in weeks past, I give Sean a 10 for effort... Andy Dick (Randy & Dar) -- You know how I feel about the mini-breakdowns some of the celebrities have during rehearsal. You get one a season and that's it! ANDY IS OVER HIS LIMIT! At least he can say he went to his prom (and was the Prom King!) and he continues to work his nerdy perfection out on the dance floor. Every time he dances, I just want him to do well...like a proud, protective parent at the school talent show! Sharna is doing an outstanding job of combining ballroom technique and quirky dance moves. Just remember, Andy, this is "Dancing with the Stars"...not "Dancing with the NERDS"! That's all for this week! Eliminations are tonight...I'll update you tomorrow (and, this time, I will be properly caffeinated!!!)
