Fulbright Arctic Week

From October 24-28, the inaugural cohort of Fulbright Arctic Initiative researchers gathered in Washington, D.C. to participate in policy meetings and public engagement events, including a capstone symposium showcasing the results of their research and collaborations over the preceding 18 months.

  2. The 17 Fulbright Arctic Scholars kicked off the week by meeting with Arctic Youth Ambassadors as they shared why they were passionate about the Arctic.
  3. Later that night, Fulbright Arctic Scholars met with Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board member Betty Castor and Institute of International Education President Allan Goodman at a Fulbright Networking reception.
  4. On Tuesday, Fulbright Arctic Scholars and Arctic Youth Ambassadors held an Open House at the Smithsonian Museum on Natural History to share their research with the public.
  5. For those who couldn't attend the event in person, Fulbright Arctic Co-Lead Scholars Mike Sfraga and Ross Virginia hosted a Facebook Live session to virtually introduce the Fulbright Arctic Scholars and Arctic Youth Ambassadors.

  7. The Fulbright Scholars presented their research in a number of ways- including posters, puppets, and 3D models!
