  1. Dr. Donnie Hale, director of FIU's The Education Effect initiative at Booker T. Washington Senior High School, travels to Pennsylvania in training for the school's planetarium refurbishment.
The school's planetarium, which has been in disrepair for almost a decade, is scheduled to open in October and will be the first of its kind among Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Dr. Hale, along with FIU professor Rene Ferro, visited the Spitz Institute in Chadds Ford, PA which develops planetariums all over the world.
