A list of suggestions for conference and event organizers to make their programs more accessible to people with disabilities.

  1. For academics with disabilities, accessibility at conferences and other events is a serious issue. So, I asked the question on Twitter: how can we provide better access? I've also included some great tweets from @PhDisabled on the subject in addition to other guidelines I've found helpful. I will update this as I receive more suggestions!

  5. Another suggestion: provide accessibility info for both attendees AND presenters. Do they have to stand? Is the podium accessible? Are there bright lights?
