2030 EU Energy Security, the Role of the Eastern Mediterranean Region

The conference took place on 10th December, 2014 in Brussels, Begium. The event was jointly organised by the Research Centre for Energy Management at ESCP Europe Business School, the Greek Energy Forum, the European Economic and Social Committee and Natural Gas Europe.


  1. Distinguished speakers and attendees explored the latest discoveries of natural gas in the Levant basin, particularly in the Leviathan, Tamar and Aphrodite fields. They discussed the importance of the new discoveries on both a regional and international level. Our speakers also highlighted the prerequisites and limitations to sourcing the market with natural gas supply.

  2. The keynote speech was led by Henri Malosse, President, European Economic and Social Committee. Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry & Tourism of Cyprus and Ioannis Maniatis, current Energy Minister of Greece also participated in the event.
