East Lothian schools Digital Commonwealth projects

A showcase of schools projects from the East Lothian area who worked with Room 8, STRiVE and Sporting Memories on digital storytelling workshops.

  1. Sporting Memories coordinated the application for East Lothian schools to take part in the Digital Commonwealth Project, linking it with projects which they were planning to maximise the benefits for all and make it an intergenerational Commonwealth project. Pupilsfrom all the schools involved are participating in STRIVE's older people volunteer befriending project. Volunteers use resources supplied bySporting Memories Network to help prompt conversations about sport in EastLothian and the Commonwealth Games as a way of engaging isolated older people.
  2. The schools taking part in the workshops and working with STRiVE were Ross High School, Sandersons Wynd Primary School, North Berwick High School, Dunbar Grammar School and Knox Academy.
  3. Room 8 set up a blog to record the workshops and worled with the schools to deliver workshops on digital storytelling around the project themes of people, place, culture and exchange in the Commonwealth. Some of their posts are below
