- Although July's #CoRplenary was 2 days long, the preparation started long before: political agendas need to be set and agreed
- And not to mention all the printing and table-setting.
- So by the time Wednesday came, we were ready to get stuck in and with the recent turmoil in the EU, there was a lot to discuss.
- Energy Union was a hot topic, following the UN climate talks in France earlier this month.
CoR - UN climate talks: Europe's regions and cities call on the EU to lead by showing true ambition pushing a 50% cut of greenhouse gas by 2050http://cor.europa.eu/en/news/Pages/UN-greenhouse.aspx- And the debate was joined by Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-president of the European Commission in charge of the Energy Union, who saw the role of regions in the EU as key.
- Which was welcomed by members - although they had some things to add...
- The other thing members were keen to discuss was the ongoing Greek crisis - and there was a sense of solidarity with the Greek people and some bad feeling towards the IMF.
