  1. Day One
  2. A panel of experts gave their views on the evolution of the EU and the Lisbon Treaty and members were keen to contribute to the discussion.
  3. Although views differed, a sense that there was an opportunity to improve things in the EU was voiced by all.
  4. And afterwards was the opinion EU Guideline on Employment:
  5. Members from the full spectrum of political parties at CoR contributed to the debate, and for some new members it was the first opportunity they had to voice their point of view.
  6. Following several compromises and amendments the opinion was accepted - and was all the better for the revisions, said Rapporteur d'Attis.
  7. The next opinion, on the Marine Environment had very few amendments to go through before it was accepted. This would mark the German rapporteur's final #CoRplenary, before retiring from his post.
  8. Finally, A Decent Life opinion, which received unanimous support and considered a Vine highlight for EPP's press and communications' officer.
  9. Also in the plenary: a minute's silence was observed for Urve Erikson and a UK member also paid tribute to a pro-European Scottish politician who died this week.
