  2. After Morgan and Tiffany explained the TRiiBe's work, we went around the room and introduced ourselves and explained what brought us to the public newsroom. Then we watched Episode 1 of Another Life, a docupoetry series written by Morgan and produced by Tiffany that examines Black millenials' healing process after losing loved ones to gun violence.
  3. After episode 1, Morgan and Tiffany answered questions about the episode and led a discussion on approaches to gun violence in mainstream Chicago media.
  4. Morgan and Tiffany then screened Another Life: Episode 2. Afterwards, Morgan was joined by Martinez Sutton. Martinez is the brother of Rekia Boyd, a Black woman who was murdered by an off-duty Chicago police officer in 2012, and he was featured in Another Life. Morgan and Martinez talked about his participation in the documentary and about dealing with media during the grieving process.
  5. As the discussion continued, Tiffany talked about her experience as a crime reporter in Orlando, and the room talked about potential solutions to inequitable media coverage.
  6. Thanks to all who came! The TRiiBe accepts donations if you are interested in supporting their work. See you at our next workshop this Thursday with Tonika Johnson.
