- The Forum started with an opening session during which speeches by Kari Liuhto (Director of Centrum Balticum), Aleksi Randell (Mayor of the City of Turku), Kalervo Väänänen (Rector of the University of Turku) and Przemyslaw Grudzinski (Ambassador of Poland in Helsinki) were heard. - The keynote speech of the Forum was delivered by President Tarja Halonen. Plenary Session: Politics and policies in the Baltic Sea region
- The plenary session dealing with the politics and policies in the Baltic Sea region was moderated by Elisabeth Braw (Atlantic Council). The panelists were Saara-Sofia Sirén (Member of the Finnish Parliament), Monika Niemiec-Butryn (Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation of Poland), Igor Kapyrin (Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation) and Haitze Siemers (European Commission).
- In four thematic parallel sessions of the Forum the maritime cluster in the Baltic Sea region was discussed from different points of views. One of the sessions dealing with the Finnish maritime cluster developments was held in Finnish and chaired by Sakari Kajander. Session chaired by Lauri Ojala focused on maritime transport in the region. Shipbuilding in the Baltic Sea region was discussed in the session chaired by Alari Purju. Finally, the fourth session chaired by Alexander Sergunin dealt with the arctic maritime transportation.
