Even though there was already a confirmed list of invited guests, the social promo (promotions done via social media) served other goals. Some of the goals were to discover new talent, start the content creation process, make other brands aware that BostonTweetUp offers this service, etc For this campaign we focused on Twitter, Facebook and our newsletter.
We designed this tweet in a way that not only gets us our target audience but also if the person does not fit our target audience they can forward it along to others who might fit.
Here is a sample of our ideal response, which included a link to their blog and a bit of background info on the blogger.
Here are examples of people not only forwarding the tweet but also including other bloggers that fit the criteria of what we were looking for.
We also posted on Facebook Fan page with the same message and shared with other food related groups we are partners with.
