International Open Access Week 2017

For #OAWeek17, there was plenty of discussion on social media. Here, we highlight announcements that detail how Springer Nature is Advancing Discovery.

  1. On Monday, Figshare released their report, "The State of Open Data", which has since had almost 6,000 views. The report was the result of a survey supported by Digital Science in partnership with Springer Nature, and featured a contribution from Springer Nature's Grace Baynes.
  2. Springer Nature released figures that showed that, in four European countries, over 70% of corresponding Springer Nature authors publish via gold open access.

  5. The BMC 'Research in Progress' report was released on Tuesday, and has had over 800 views on Figshare so far.
  6. #SciData17, 2017's edition of the annual conference from Scientific Data was trending in London, thanks to a stellar line up of speakers.
  7. Integration of Springer Nature links and data in PubChem, adding more than 1.6 million links to open access article, improves the discoverability of information about chemicals.
