- If you’ve listened to enough of The Weeknd during the past couple of years, you probably understand by now that every track isn’t just your average three minute song. Rather, it’s a dramatic soundscape changing at least two or three times before you even reach the end.
The title track from The Weeknd’s forthcoming album Kiss Land does exactly that, a tortured love track getting lost in a haunted world of screams, twinkling bells and echoes against shaky and unsettling dubstep beats. I don’t know how many other R n B efforts I’ve heard in the past that sound like a spooky merry-go-round, but I think I’ve found it. And it’s awesome.
