Review - 'Kissland' - The Weeknd

If you’ve listened to enough of The Weeknd during the past couple of years, you probably understand by now that every track isn’t just your average three minute song. Rather, it’s a dramatic soundscape changing at least two or three times before you even reach the end.

The title track from The Weeknd’s forthcoming album Kiss Land does exactly that, a tortured love track getting lost in a haunted world of screams, twinkling bells and echoes against shaky and unsettling dubstep beats. I don’t know how many other R n B efforts I’ve heard in the past that sound like a spooky merry-go-round, but I think I’ve found it. And it’s awesome.
