From left to right, Mary Jo Daniel, Jessie DeAro, Amy P. Chen and Lydia Tapia get the panel started.
To begin, DeAro worked to help the audience understand some basics about how NSF works.
DeAro also gave specific advice about getting your foot in the door with the NSF and where to look for grants.
Next, Chen discussed her time as a Presidential Managment Fellow at the NSF Division of Earth Sciences and NASA Earth Science Division.
She said part of being successful is trying to anticipate when calls for proposals will go out and being sure you have potential collaborators on board.
