When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change


  1. The Freeway Series (Aug. 4-7) between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim this year is everything local baseball fans could hope for.  Both teams are in serious contention for post-season births, the first time in years that the rivalry has that moniker.

    But what I appreciate most about the 4-game series is the chance to listen to play-by-play called by legendary broadcaster Vin Scully.
  2. Vincent Edward "Vin" Scully (born November 29, 1927) is an American sportscaster, best known as the play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team. His 65 seasons with the Dodgers (1950–present) is the longest tenure of any broadcaster with a SINGLE team in professional sports history, and he is second by one year to only Tommy Lasorda in terms of number of years with the Dodgers organization in any capacity. He is known for his dulcet voice, lyrically descriptive, storytelling style, and signature introduction to Dodger games: "It's time for Dodger baseball!
