Django Unchained: Initial Thoughts

    I liked the movie because it was just a Basterds rehash. I didn't like... Other things. Idk I'm going to do my best to write it out.

    In short I don't believe that was a white man's movie to make, and I advise seeing it in the company of people you trust? God idk.

    There was an abundance of slave torture that felt vaguely reminiscent of the kind of torture porn you see in those Hostel flicks #django

    And like I'm fine with the realities of slavery? But colored with a Tarentino lens it just seemed there for shock value nothing else #danjo

    also so much of the violence/torture porn was focused on Django/slaves whereas in Basterds most of it was focused on the fun!Revenge #django

    so when we GOT to the fun!Revenge part in #Django which comes pretty late in my heart just wasn't in it anymore :-/

    And there were things I enjoyed: Leo was amazing, gorgeous cinematography, Zoe Bell! But that kept getting countered by discomfort. #django
