Twitter opens Pandora's Box
Twitter has just announced that it will ne introducing functionality whereby it will be able to block certain Tweets is certain countries.
- We had a rude awakening this morning when Twitter announced on its blog that it now has functionality to block content.
- Twitter Blog: Tweets still must flowShare and discover what's happening right now, anywhere in the world.
- Have to say I'm a bit surprised by the move. Yes, perhaps they now can access some markets. But it will increase the demansa form politicians and courts.
- Of course in the Arab world and elsewhere this will be alarming. My guess is that Twitter will not block political content in these countries. Prominent Arab bloggers are rightfully worried though.
