  1. Office Hours @ 4:15ET: Cecilia Muñoz answers your Qs on #immigration update to focus resources - ask w/ #whchat: http://1.usa.gov/qLPiIM
  2. @whitehouse Awesome declaration today; now if we can just get Cong to agree on more visas aimed at #immigrantion/ #entrepreneurship. #WHChat
  3. .@CMichaelMcLeod: Couldn't agree more; today's news doesn't provide permanent status for anyone. We need partners in Congress & a bill.
  4. question: so you'd have to be in deportation proceeding to get temporary status? #immigration, #dreamact, @defineamerican
  5. .@joseiswriting: (1 of 2) We're clearing out the caseload to make room for high priority cases & keeping low priorities out of the caseload.
  6. .@joseiswriting (2of2) impt to understand there's no affirmative process for people to apply for. For that we need imm reform in Congress.
  7. #whchat, could we charge illegal people without criminal records and good standing for work permits and green cards so they can stay here? $
  8. @Ivan_Garcia_214: To make any changes like that, we need partners in Congress to help us reform the #immigration law - a priority for us.
  9. .@writegray: You can see the priorities DHS is using to clear out the caseload here: http://www.ice.gov/doclib/secure-communities/pdf/prosecutorial-discretion-memo.pdf #whchat
  10. So this new policy changes nothing for #DREAMACT students that are not in deportation proceedings? #WHChat
  11. .@jvera15 If they are low priority, it decreases the likelihood that they end up in deportation proceedings. The real fix is the #DREAM Act.
  12. @whitehouse Do you have confidence ICE will implement new administration policy? #whchat
  13. .@javimorillo They adopted a strategy and it is having impact. ICE has increased criminal deportations 70%. This will help focus further.
  14. 300k reviews is nothing to sneeze at. "Progress but not enough." Others can't even see that and just exclaim "outrage!" #whchat
  15. .@MattOrtega Totally agree. The real solution is passing an #immigration reform. We need partners in Congress! http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/rss_viewer/immigration_blueprint.pdf #whchat
  16. @whitehouse Is true about the work permits and how soon can we can apply for one? #whchat
  17. .@WBCHAMPION1 There is no general process for work permits. Some people whose deportations are suspended may qualify, some may not. #whchat
  18. Your input really matters to us; there is a lot of work ahead to implement these laws well and to pass a reform that works. Thanks - Cecilia
