So, You Want to be the Next High Commissioner? 2014

Day 4 - 24 July 2014

  1. Day 4 of our HR Youth training started with our traditional morning recap, where participants gave their feedback on Day 3 as well as the Universal Periodic Review simulation game. We really appreciated receiving constructive comments which will be truly beneficial for the future.

We then moved on to our Project Development two-day intensive training conducted by Matteo Guidotti.

  2. Matteo Guidotti
focused on Project Cycle Management today and will discuss Human Rights project development tomorrow.

After introducing key concepts relative to Project Cycle Management and frameworks for analysis, he invited our participants to conduct exercises aiming at defining challenges, risks and opportunities when designing projects. He relied on the planning part of project management, which is a crucial point to reach successful outcomes.

He took concrete examples and asked participants to discuss the objectives of project management. For instance, they dealt with the conditions for setting up a new hospital to reduce maternal mortality in a developing country.

  3. We also had the chance to take a group photo with the flags from the Palais des Nations entrance -- don't we look good? :-)

  4. We're not at the end of #HRYouth just yet!

Next stop for us is a well-deserved social event in a restaurant tonight after a long day of brainstorming before another fantastic training day starts tomorrow. Stay tuned!
