Legislators Bicker on Twitter -- Grocery Tax Edition
Some Tennessee House Lawmakers, including two prominent caucus leaders, took their debate about lowering the tax on food to Twitter Wednesday.

Rep. Craig Fitzhugh, head Democrat in House of Representatives, kicked off the conversation with a tweet that tagged Republican Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey and the Tennessee Republican Party, both of which have criticized the Democrats' proposal to reduce the grocery tax.

Then House Republican Caucus Chairwoman Debra Maggart, of Hendersonville, chimed in.
- @craigfitzhugh @RonRamsey #TNGOP #hypocrisy 2 Bad Craig u didn't like this idea when we asked 4 it back when GOP n the minority! #copycat
- @debramaggart Actually, Rep. Maggart, I sponsored the largest tax cut in TN history when we lowered it last time. #checkyourfacts
Maggart was then joined by Freshman Rep. Julia Hurley, a Republican from Lenoir City.
- @craigfitzhugh stop bickering and work together for the #TN taxpayers! Whop cares who did what back when, let's do our best NOW
- @repjuliahurley I agree. Let's start by getting a bipartisan group together to reduce the regressive, overly inflated sales tax on food.
- @craigfitzhugh why don't you just write the bill and see if it passes instead of fighting about it? Just write it and see what happens.
