#whyJournalism - Why Did You Become a Journalist?

The Future Journalism Project asked people why they became journalists?

  1. It started with a one question survey: In 200 words or less, why did you become a journalist? We posted a form using Google docs but the immediate responses came via Twitter.
  2. Because anything at all is worth writing about if you care enough about it. #whyjournalism
  3. I became a journalist to serve as a watchdog and to help keep the American people informed. Also, for the press pass. #whyjournalism

  5. Studying because to change the world, journalism is an "immediate short-term weapon." #whyjournalism
  6. Because it's both a thrill and a challenge to successfully frame something in a way that ppl will give a shit #whyjournalism
