Jeremy Duns on R J Ellory

My Description

  1. The writer is Roger Ellory, who writes as RJ Ellory. He wrote A Quiet Belief in Angels, which has sold over a million copies worldwide.
  2. Like Matt Lynn, Ellory writes 5-star reviews of his own work on Amazon. Long, purple tributes to his own magnificent genius.
  3. And like Matt Lynn, RJ Ellory also writes shoddy, shitty sniping reviews of others authors' work on Amazon, under an assumed identity.
  4. Ellory is a major British bestseller, whether you have read him or not. A Richard & Judy pick. Winner of the Crime Novel of the Year 2010.
  5. I'm going to prove Ellory does this. Here's one account which I am very sure is him but cannot prove: amazon.co.uk/gp/cdp/member-… Proof is coming.
  6. You can see that 'Jelly Bean' has given 5 stars to every single one of RJ Ellory's books. Very articulately.
  7. On this page, you can see that 'Jelly Bean' has also given a one-star review for Mark Billingham's most recent novel: amazon.co.uk/gp/cdp/member-…
  8. The review is from *this month*. It's a spiteful review, sniping at Billingham's success and insinuating he has ripped off another writer.
  9. 'Jelly Bean' wrote another sniping review in that style two years ago, of Stuart MacBride's novel Dark Blood: amazon.co.uk/gp/cdp/member-…
  10. Now let's look at another Amazon reviewer without a real name, 'Nicodemus Jones': amazon.co.uk/gp/cdp/member-…
  11. As you can see, he gives 5-star reviews to all RJ Ellory's books. He describes A Quiet Belief In Angels as 'a modern masterpiece'.
  12. 'All I will say is that there are paragraphs and chapters that just stopped me dead in my tracks....it really is a magnificent book...
  13. ...Ignore all dissentors and naysayers, this book is not trying to be anything other than a great story, brilliantly told...
  14. ...Just buy it, read it, and make up your own mind. Whatever else it might do, it will touch your soul...'
  15. This is RJ Ellory writing about his own book. And he has done this for them all, and yes, I'm proving it in the next few minutes.
  16. First of all, it's a 1-star reviewof Stuart MacBride's Dark Blood. I think the possibility of two massive Ellory fanatics hating that one
  17. book are infinitessimally small. 'Nicodemus' and 'Jelly' also have the same complaint about it. They use the same term: 'same-old-same-old'.
  18. Now look at the comments on that review. There are 24. 'Nicodemus' chats away a bit, then suddenly, ot of nowhere, RJ Ellory comments.
  19. He appears to be responding to a comment directed at 'Nicodemus'. He has not been mentioned at all in the conversation.
  20. I'll prove it in a minute, but what has happened here is Ellory slipped up. He didn't check which account he had signed in under.
  21. And throughout that thread. 'Nicodemus' signs himself Roger, and openly identifies himself as Ellory. He gives details of his books
  22. that only an author could. He reveals which will next be recorded as an audio book, discusses translators, mentions where he is, talks
