Is there a drought of big ideas on the Internet/tech blogosphere?

As I look around at my own industry, tech news, there is certainly no shortage of content. But ideas... those we're bereft of. ~Richard MacManus, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of ReadWriteWeb

I'm going to be really honest, no. There just aren't enough big ideas in social media these days. I follow many social media sources, and it's like one writes about, say, London Riots, and all others follow. Another writes about G+, same wi...th others. Google Moto, same thing yet again.. Come on.. Tech and related things have become only a game of making money, it seems like. Where are stories about startups and those cool things that are happening in tech world and stuff. I'm relying on these social media outlets to tell me what's going on there, especially because I don't live there. So, yes, please it would be very helpful if you could do something about it. Thanks! :) (Sorry if it was any harsh or anything, I don't mean it that way).

Lots of people have great ideas, unfortunately they're all held up in patents the holders will sue you over, but don't intend to implement.

There is indeed a paucity of good stories right now. Everyone seems to be waiting with bated breath for the Steve Jobs presentation.
