Is there a drought of big ideas on the Internet/tech blogosphere?
As I look around at my own industry, tech news, there is certainly no shortage of content. But ideas... those we're bereft of. ~Richard MacManus, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of ReadWriteWeb

Tech Media Obsessed With Deals & Rumors - Bring Back IdeasBig ideas aren't prevalent anymore, posited academic and author Neal Gabler in a New York Times op-ed. "We are living in an increasingly post-idea world," he wrote, "a world in which big, thought-provoking ideas that can't instantly be monetized are of so little intrinsic value that fewer people are generating them and fewer outlets are disseminating them, the Internet notwithstanding."- More discussion on Google Plus.
Richard MacManus - Google+ - Do you think there are enough big ideas in the blogosphere…Do you think there are enough big ideas in the blogosphere and social media these days? Or is your mind being stimulated enough by stories such as the…
I'm going to be really honest, no. There just aren't enough big ideas in social media these days. I follow many social media sources, and it's like one writes about, say, London Riots, and all others follow. Another writes about G+, same wi...th others. Google Moto, same thing yet again.. Come on.. Tech and related things have become only a game of making money, it seems like. Where are stories about startups and those cool things that are happening in tech world and stuff. I'm relying on these social media outlets to tell me what's going on there, especially because I don't live there. So, yes, please it would be very helpful if you could do something about it. Thanks! :) (Sorry if it was any harsh or anything, I don't mean it that way).- And some people think we're guilty too.
