How many Facebook friends do you have? Are you planning to cut back?
In response to Alicia Eler's story, It's True: You Have Too Many Facebook Friends (http://rww.to/AbbPrJ), we asked you how many friends you had and whether or not you were considering cutting back. Here are your answers.
- Kristen Leigh - I deactivated my FB for many reasons, this idea of false friends being one of them. I had almost 400 but interacted with maybe 50 of them throughout a month's time.
- Dean Marlett-Smith - While I have subscribers and subscriptions, I have only three "friends" because those three didn't activate their subscription!
- Neil Hodges - I have 45 'friends,' though I rarely, if ever, interact with them.
- Mia Poole - I have 134 friends. I've always been selective about who I add. I have my favorite people in groups so I don't miss anything from them.
- Chris Dowell - I have nearly 4500 facebook friends. Over half I interact with. With FB fan pages becoming easier to use and the addition of G+, I have slowed down in adding friends. I don't think I have even asked someone to be my friend on FB since July of 2011.
- Robyn Tippins - +Chris Dowell That would drive me insane! How do you keep up with that many connections? I'm at around 500 and it's 300 too many for me...
- Maciej Marciniuk - I had around 90 friends and interacted with almost none of them so I've permanently deleted my fb account.
- twenn - Tweeted News Network - Why don't they change the title "Friends" to "(Un)Known"?
- From our Facebook Community:
And with potential employers scanning your posts (how, I do not know, if you are not friends with them), privacy (or the lack of it with the new Timeline) is making me into a healthy paranoid... freedom of speech does not exist in the workp...lace.... that is a given. The loss of control we will have with Timeline (as well as being unable to find a post n a friend's page you just read a few hours before) is not good. I suspect I'll only use it for info from article feeds.- And from our Twitter community of readers:
