The "4/20" event at the University of Colorado Boulder has grown to be one of the biggest marijuana-law protests and "smoke-out" celebrations in the U.S., but this year CU administrators and student government are attempting to end the annual event with a campus lockdown.

Military personnel on leave in the U.S. or who are out of active duty don't have to miss the rigors and stress-reducing qualities of hardcore physical exercise thanks to the nationwide series of "races" called the Rugged Maniac. Each is a 5K (3.2-mile) course with at least 20 obstacles. Missed the Charleston race? 12 more races will run across the U.S. through November 10, 2012.
