You can find him on Twitter at  @mulligan .] Highlight  is one of the most talked about apps out there. It was touted to be the breakout app at this year’s SXSW.
So the above is then after-fact review of the new app Highlight. While at SXSW I didn't realize it was the big battery hog on my iPhone. That is clear now. Let's take a look at the buzz surrounding the app leading up to SXSW
What I think is clear is that SXSW wasn't a good venue for people to start trying to use this app. I'm still interested in seeing how it gets changed. I like the idea. But I wonder if too many people have already given up on it.

Baratunde Thurston was keynote speaker today and he delivered. He got my attention fast when he mentioned his new book is called 'How to Be Black' and threw in a subtitle: 'If you don't steal this book you're a racist.'

That was enough to have made my day worth it, but there was more. Earlier, I'd been to 'Crowdsourcing a Revolution: Can We Fix Healthcare?  I wish I'd been able to stay and chat with Indu Subaiya because I think the people who have the focus of 'fixing' healthcare operating solely in on the treatment and reshuffling of resources side are missing some big opportunities.  I'd love to have told her my idea to crowdsource a social tool that would automate the various processes by which hospitals and physicians are integrating.  One spot.  HIPPA, Stark & HiTech compliant with four or five physician/hospital integration models that, if the process went through the system, it would be deemed compliant.  This would save millions that are wasted when mergers and acquisitions fail to be completed and streamline the process, which would also save millions every time an agreement was reached.  I'll have to contact her off-line.  Or maybe she'll read this and reach out.

I also learned they're having a competition to build a real, functioning Star Trek Tricorder.  Cool!

Closed out my Saturday sessions by being enthralled by Kelly Carlin, George Carlin's daughter.  It was so good, it would have been improper for me to put her father in front in the previous sentence.  It really struck me in my wheelhouse; I once had dreams of being a comedian but life intervened.  George Carlin and Robin Williams were my idols for quite some time.  And they still are, now that I think about it.  Kelly didn't fall far from the crazy tree either.  She got probably the most heartfelt standing ovation so far.
