We've said it here before, but this week the tide continued to turn in favor of a pathway to citizenship as several prominent Republicans appeared to embrace this central tenant of immigration reform for the first time. Senator Rand Paul was only the latest Republican to endorse a pathway to citizenship joining others before him. We announced the site of our 2015 conference, testified in the Senate, and advocated for the swift confirmation of Thomas Perez to the position of Labor Secretary. It's This Week in Social Media.

This week, President Obama outlined his main priorities for his second term in his fifth State of the Union address, our own President and CEO Janet Murguía testified before the US Senate, and we saw a major figure in journalism shift to the side of progress by dropping "illegal immigrant" from his lexicon. It' s This Week in Social Media.
The Social Security Administrated launched a new website on Monday, intended to help beneficiaries old and young alike to view their SSA data online.
We partnered with a new documentary called A Place at the Table, focusing on the hidden story of American hunger in our day and age.

This week, the first immigration hearing in the US House convened on Tuesday, we converged on the Texas Capitol to push for issues important to us, and emphasized the importance of working together to achieve immigration reform before congratulating the leader of an affiliate on receiving the Presidential Citizens Medal. On Monday, we heard the news that Latinos will soon outnumber all groups in California by 2014. This will surely lead to a larger Latino voice in government and lead the direction of policy.
