Amazing...They are consolidating the Raleigh News & Observer copy Editors and page designers with the Charlotte Observer. Soon there won't be any such thing as a local paper. There barely is now....without the local news and connection, why do these papers exist? God knows, we don't get our national or entertainment news from them...

Disastrous. Unbelievable. Shameful. Messed up. Breathtakingly bad. So sad. These are just some of the adjectives used on Facebook and Twitter regarding McClatchy's decision to shut down the copy desk and design desk at The News & Observer. That work will be done at an editing/design hub at The Charlotte Observer, which is also owned by McClatchy.

@kvrag Oh, they exist. In Charlotte, but not for long in Raleigh. And probably not for long in Myrtle Beach, Columbia, etc.
