Several fans of "The Bachelor," "New Girl" and "NCIS" were upset when Kansas City stations interrupted the shows for breaking coverage of an explosion at Country Club Plaza. At least 14 people were hospitalized with injuries; at least one person died in the blast.

Heavy fog crept into the St. Louis area, and lingered into the morning. A dense fog advisory is in effect until noon, with quarter-mile or less visibility according to the National Weather Service.

New York Twitter user deliberately spreads false information about Hurricane Sandy.

In the chaos of Hurricane Sandy, Twitter user @ComfortablySmug actively tried to use the application to trick his followers (which included journalists) to retweet his posts as fact.

@ComfortablySmug was one of a handful of Twitter users who posted images from the movie "Day After Tomorrow," claiming it was a real storm photo.

Then he took the prank farther, falsely reported a total blackout in Manhattan and that the floor of the New York Stock Exchange had flooded. With the fake news, @ComfortablySmug also was retweeting real news of flooding and power outages.

With bridges shutting down at 7pm, all stranded on the island of Manhattan are effectively left for dead. May God have mercy on your souls
