Afgelopen weekend startte dEUS zijn nieuwe tournee al in Istanbul, maar het eerste Belgische concert (voor het tweede is het wachten tot Pukkelpop) vond maandagavond plaats in de Brusselse Botanique. Wie erbij wilde zijn moest wat geluk hebben, want in de Chapiteau was maar plaats voor een goeie vijftienhonderd fans, en de vraag was uiteraard vele malen groter dan het aanbod.

Bien qu'enfermés de longs mois ensemble dans leur studio de Borgerhout pour enregistrer leur nouvel album "Keep Your Close" (à paraître le 17 septembre), les membres de dEUS ont, de leur propre aveu, eu l'impression de sceller leurs "vraies" retrouvailles ce vendredi 20 mai à Istanbul, date du premier concert de leur mini-tournée européenne.

Impossible aussi de le manquer sur scène. Précédé d'une rumeur explosive (c'est Chris Taylor, de Grizzly Bear, qui a produit "Forget", le premier album du groupe, épinglé "Band of the week" dans un "Rolling Stone" d'octobre...), le groupe basé à Brooklyn était fermement attendu dans l'Orangerie.

maandag 23 mei 2011 om 10u57 Na Pere Ubu speelde nu ook Mercury Rev tijdens Les Nuits integraal haar populairste plaat. ‘Deserter's Songs', uit 1998, was het werkstuk dat eigenlijk de zwanenzang van de groep had moeten worden, maar paradoxaal genoeg haar heropstanding inluidde. DA GIG: Mercury Rev in Koninklijk Circus, Brussel op 22/5.
