The Supreme Court is hearing arguments this week regarding the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act. The entire country is now grappling with the idea of health care reform. In February, Rick Santorum's remarks at an Ohio rally made headlines, criticizing what he calls "ObamaCare" and the mandate that requires free prenatal testing.

Santorum, at a campaign rally in Ohio, said: "One of the things that you don't know about ObamaCare in one of the mandates is they require free prenatal testing. Why? Because free prenatal testing ends up in more abortions and, therefore, less care that has to be done, because we cull the ranks of the disabled in our society. That too is part of ObamaCare -- another hidden message as to what president Obama thinks of those who are less able than the elites who want to govern our country."

He clarified his statements about prenatal care, specifying amniocentesis as a cause for abortion. Santorum said: "Amniocentesis, does, in fact, result more often than not in this country in abortion." 

But the statements--both in Ohio and on Face the Nation--created a public outcry, with women especially responding to Santorum. Chicago journalist Esther Cepeda's syndicated column about her right to choose shed light on the issue.

The White House released a statement late Monday afternoon saying in part that the G-8 summit will not longer be held in Chicago and will be moved to Camp David in Maryland. The NATO summit will continue to be held in Chicago as planned. The only explanation given to moving the G-8 summit to Camp David was "to facilitate a free-flowing discussion with our close G-8 partners."

The news instantly lit up through Twitter and both "G-8" and "NATO" began trending in Chicago.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a statement: "We wish President Obama and the other leaders well at the G8 meeting at Camp David and look forward to hosting the NATO Summit in Chicago. Hosting the NATO Summit is a tremendous opportunity to showcase Chicago to the world and the world to Chicago and we are proud to host the 50 heads of state, foreign and defense ministers from the NATO and ISAF countries in our great city May 19-21."
Chicagoans seemed pleased, as the G-8 summit was set to disrupt their schools, work schedule, commute and more.
But some are more skeptical, questioning the motivation behind the summit being moved to Camp David.
The #OWS hashtag alludes to the Occupy Wall Street movement, which took the country by storm in recent months. Similar protests were expected this May during the G-8 summit, and some still plan on protesting.

Gas prices have been steadily increasing this month, topping off at $3.91 for a gallon of regular gas here in Chicago--that's a significant increase of 35 cents since the first day of February. And with some of the highest gas prices in the nation, Chicago is a bit upset.

Some people are even considering alternative modes of transportation.
Chicago was named the city with the highest gas prices in the nation in April 2011, but now the city is faring quite well in comparison, according to the American Automotive Association. Today, AAA says the Illinois average is $3.84, while Chicagoland is $3.91. Other significant averages include: California at $4.32, New York state at $3.97, Connecticut at $3.97 and Hawaii at $4.34.
So we're not quite in the running yet, but how are prices looking compared to last Leap Year in 2008? The Chicago Tribune reports that, four years ago today, one gallon of regular gas was $3.14. Today, the Tribune reports it's $3.87, while AAA reports it's $3.91.
