Following on the success of the showing at Tottenham's Broadwater Farm Community Centre, The Other Cinema brought 'La Haine' to London's fabulous Troxy, then on to the Trianon in Paris, with assistance from Asian Dub Foundation, Mathieu Kassovitz and numerous other very special guests

Though he couldn't be present at the events, Mathieu created a great video introduction to the screenings - in which he talked about the continuing relevance of the film - as well as doing a huge amount to spread the message online

In an interview with French cinema London he explains:

"I think it’s a very bold move and a very respectful choice for the people of Tottenham. I think it can help some of the young people who participated in the riots in Tottenham. Some know about the movie, some don’t, but they will be able to debate around it. If there’s one thing to remember from La Haine it’s that it enabled a lot of young people to express their discontent after having seen the movie and not after what they could have done in the streets.'

Collaborating with local artists and performers, the audience was guided through a garden and introduced to the performance space by community artists including: breakdancers, spoken word poets, BMX riders, and graffiti artists, all of whom contributed to the set design and performance for this production.
