Her Majesty and His Royal Highness's programme commenced with a visit to Bailey of Bristol, the longest established caravan manufacturer in the UK. The Queen and The Duke were given a tour of the factory, viewing assembly processes and a finished caravan, and meeting members of staff.

Afterwards, Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were entertained to Lunch by Bristol City Council at M Shed, a museum located in a former 1950's transit shed on the city's historic dockside.

The Queen visited the Poppy Factory in Richmond, Surrey. The factory has provided work for wounded, injured and sick ex-Services personnel since 1922. Staff will have made some 12 million poppies and 107,000 wreaths for Remembrance Day this year.

The Princess Royal is the only member of the Royal Family ever to have competed in the Olympic Games. In 1976 she was a member of the British Three-Day Event team at the Montreal Olympic Games. This led in 1983 to her becoming President of the British Olympic Association for five years. In 1986 Her Royal Highness succeeded her father as President of the International Equestrian Federation (IEF), a post which she has since relinquished. In 1988 The Princess became one of the two UK members of the International Olympic Committee. Her Royal Highness has been an enthusiastic supporter of the British Olympic teams at successive games since 1983, including the games in Sydney in 2000 and Athens in 2004:

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh started the final day of the regional Diamond Jubilee tour onboard the ship MV Leander. Her Majesty and His Royal Highness arrived in Cowes through a ‘Parade of Sail’ and were received with a 21 Gun Salute fired from the Royal Yacht Squadron.

The Royal Party alighted at Trinity Landing in Cowes and walked along the seafront stopping to unveil a new plaque to mark their visit.
