Two main reasons people comment on blogs is for Kudos and to debate a point on your blog in their own community. @mattsurfs #wcsd

It's important 4 people to be able to reply to each other. Threading, etc. But can it be more efficient with a chat room integration? #wcsd

Sometimes you add a lot of stuff that prevents people from commenting. Remove the obstacles if you want comments. #WCSD

  6. Which commenting platform to use?

Look at where your audience is. Disqus & Intense Debate are good for  people who have established sites or for those people who have a technology-focused audience.

  14. What if someone keyword stuffs their name in comments?

Address that in your comment policy, or move to a reputation system.

If you get 50 + comments / tweets on your post, could be a problem. (Good problem to have!) @mattsurfs #wcsd

RT @notagrouch Moderation and registration kills comments more than a little spam. Use akismet and open comments up. #wcsd

"I used to hate the trolls" @mattsurfs #wcsd. Trolls can be good. Trolls have their place and are worth considering.

  18. Evolve your commenting system as your commenting grows. If you're a knight or a king, you can dictate your own terms.
