Reimbursement for Conferences
How can we, as graduate students, contingent faculty, and junior faculty afford to pay up front for conferences? Can we afford not to?

@tressiemcphd @readywriting i hate this about working for a univ. i travel a lot and am constantly carrying a balance on my cc.- @mylifeasprose @readywriting I know people have written about it but it's lingering consequence of college elitism

@readywriting @tressiemcphd I'm faculty; two week lag between expense and reimbursement is hard. Used cred cards in grad school, none now.- @terfle @readywriting I feel your pain. I'd kill for a 2 week lag. Draconian changes to travel policy in name of "cost-saving' means months
@tressiemcphd the assumption that you can afford it if you try hard enough sucks. some of us are already sacrificing a lot to just be there.- @tressiemcphd Oh my. That sucks. This is why academics graduate with credit card as well as student loan debt.
